JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to 2 years, in patients over the age of 21. It’s different than JUVÉDERM® XC and works on a different area of the face. JUVÉDERM® XC smoothes out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, like parentheses. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC, however, adds volume to the cheek area.

Where Does JUVÉDERM® Work?

Everyone’s skin ages differently and JUVÉDERM® may be used to rejuvenate multiple problem areas.* From smile lines to vertical lip lines, to marionette lines, you can smooth away unwanted wrinkles and restore natural contours.

How does JUVÉDERM® Work?

Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds – like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth.

Using a dermal filler like JUVÉDERM® is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.

What are the possible JUVÉDERM® Side Effects?

JUVÉDERM® injectable gel is generally well tolerated. Most side effects are mild to moderate in nature and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally biocompatible, which means allergy skin testing is not required prior to treatment.

What if I have Allergies?

Before your first treatment you will fill out a medical history and have a free consultation with Dr. Cadoux to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment. Please let us know at that time if you have any allergies. JUVÉDERM® injectable gel for facial wrinkles and folds should not be used in patients who have:

  • Severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or history or presence of multiple severe allergies
  • A history of allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins
  • JUVÉDERM® should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to lidocaine.
